Ze kennen een rijk verleden op een altaar van een oud kerkje. Eeuwenlang waren kaarsen in kandelaars de enige lichtbron in kerk en ook in huis.<\/p>\n<p>Een eeuwenoud gebruik \u00a0zijn twee kandelaars met brandende kaarsen aan weerskanten op het altaar.<br \/>\nHet licht van de brandende kaarsen is een teken van hoop en verlossing. Zoals genoemd waren kaarsen in de middeleeuwse jaren ook de enige bron van licht in een donkere kerk. Misdienaars hielden de kandelaars vast naast het altaar of ze stonden op de grond.
